It’s All About Jesus

The Holy Scriptures

We believe that the Holy Bible is God’s revealed Word to humanity. The sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments are divinely inspired, inerrant, infallible, and the final authority for faith, doctrine, and conduct.

Scripture reveals God’s character, His redemptive plan, and the person and work of Jesus Christ. It is sufficient for teaching, correction, instruction in righteousness, and equipping believers for every good work.

(Deut. 4:1–2; Ps. 19:7–11; 119:89,105,160; 2 Tim. 3:16–17; 2 Pet. 1:20–21)

The Nature and Character of God

We believe in one true and living God, the Creator and Sustainer of all things visible and invisible.

God is:

  • Eternal - without beginning or end (Ps. 90:2)

  • Self-existent - “I AM WHO I AM” (Exod. 3:14)

  • Immutable - unchanging in His nature and promises (Mal. 3:6; James 1:17)

  • Omnipotent - all-powerful (Jer. 32:17)

  • Omniscient - all-knowing (Ps. 139:1–6)

  • Omnipresent - present everywhere (Ps. 139:7–10)

  • Holy - morally perfect and set apart (Isa. 6:3; 1 Pet. 1:16)

  • Righteous - upright in all His ways (Ps. 11:7)

  • Just - perfectly fair and true (Deut. 32:4)

  • Loving - the very source of love (1 John 4:8)

  • Sovereign - ruling over all creation and history (Dan. 4:35; Eph. 1:11)

God’s sovereignty does not diminish His personal care; He is both transcendent above creation and intimately involved within it.

The Trinity

Within the unity of the Godhead there exist eternally three co-equal and co-eternal persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit (Matt. 28:19; 2 Cor. 13:14).

These three persons are distinct, yet share one divine essence (John 1:1; 10:30; Acts 5:3–4). They are consubstantial and indivisible in being, will, and action, yet distinguishable in their personal relations and redemptive roles (Eph. 1:3–14; 1 Pet. 1:2).

We believe there is one God.

This one God has always existed as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

The Father is not the Son.
The Son is not the Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit is not the Father.

They are three distinct persons - but they are not three gods.

Each one is fully God.
They share the same divine nature.
They are equal in power, glory, and eternity.

God the Father

We believe that God the Father is the first person of the Trinity, eternal in being and equal in essence with the Son and the Holy Spirit.

He purposes redemption, elects according to His sovereign will, and lovingly draws humanity to Himself. He is wise, compassionate, and faithful to His covenant promises.

The Lord Jesus Christ

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, fully divine and fully human.

He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. Without ceasing to be God, He took on true humanity to reveal the Father and accomplish redemption.

Jesus lived a sinless life in perfect obedience to the Father. He died a substitutionary and atoning death on the cross, bearing the penalty of sin. His sacrifice satisfied divine justice and secured reconciliation for all who believe.

He rose bodily from the dead, triumphing over sin, death, and Satan. He ascended to the right hand of the Father, where He intercedes as our High Priest and reigns as Lord.

He will return visibly and gloriously to judge the living and the dead and to establish the fullness of His Kingdom.

(John 1:1–14; Heb. 1:1–10; 1 Cor. 15:3–4; 1 John 2:1)

The Holy Spirit

We believe that the Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity, co-equal and co-eternal with the Father and the Son.

He was active in creation and is active in salvation, convicting the world of sin and regenerating those who believe. He indwells every believer, producing sanctification, guiding into truth, and empowering for holy living and witness.

The Spirit distributes spiritual gifts according to His will for the edification of the Church. We affirm the ongoing operation of these gifts in the Church today.

We believe that the baptism in the Holy Spirit is an empowering work for service and witness. Speaking in tongues may accompany this experience, but it is not the sole evidence of the Spirit’s fullness.

(John 14:26; Acts 1:8; 1 Cor. 12:4–11)

Salvation

We believe that salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone.

Humanity, fallen in Adam, is incapable of saving itself. Salvation is the sovereign gift of God, granted to undeserving sinners through the finished work of Christ.

Through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ, believers are justified, regenerated, adopted, sanctified, and assured of eternal life.

The offer of salvation is extended to all, but it is received only by those who respond in faith.

(John 3:16; Eph. 2:8–10; Rom. 3:23; 6:23)

Sin and Repentance

We believe that sin is rebellion against God’s holy character and law. It separates humanity from God and results in spiritual death.

Every person is accountable before God. Forgiveness and reconciliation are granted through repentance - a genuine turning from sin and turning toward God in faith.

(Gen. 3; Rom. 3:23; 1 John 1:8–9)

The Church

We believe that the Church is the body of Christ, composed of all true believers united by faith in Him. Christ is the Head of the Church.

The local church is the gathered community of believers committed to worship, sound doctrine, prayer, fellowship, discipleship, and mission. The Church exists to glorify God, proclaim the gospel, make disciples, and demonstrate Christ’s love in the world.

(1 Cor. 12:12–14; Eph. 1:22–23)

Baptism and the Lord’s Supper

We believe in water baptism by immersion in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit as an act of obedience following conversion. It signifies union with Christ in His death and resurrection.

We believe in the Lord’s Supper as a sacred ordinance instituted by Christ, commemorating His atoning death and proclaiming His return.

Humanity and the Image of God

We believe that humanity was created by God in His image, male and female, for His glory.

Every human being possesses inherent dignity and worth, regardless of race, ethnicity, or background. Gender is part of God’s good design in creation.

(Gen. 1:27–28; Acts 17:26)

Last Things

We believe in the bodily resurrection of all people. Those who trust in Christ will enjoy eternal life in the presence of God in the new heavens and new earth. Those who reject Christ will experience eternal separation from God.

Christ will return personally, visibly, and gloriously. He is both Saviour and Judge.

(1 Thess. 4:15–17; Rev. 21:2–3)

It’s All About Jesus

From eternity past to eternity future, God’s redemptive plan centres on Jesus Christ.

He is the radiance of God’s glory, the exact imprint of His nature, the head of the Church, and the coming King.

Our doctrine, worship, mission, and hope flow from this unshakable truth:

Jesus Christ is Lord - to the glory of God the Father, by the power of the Holy Spirit.
